Welcome to the official site of the First North American Conference on Precision Dairy Management.

Precision dairy management is automation using sensor-based management tools that define animal needs and robotic equipment that automatically delivers individual cow management applications.  In the same way that mechanization and expansion have improved productivity in the last 20 years, precision technologies will drive dairy industry progress in future.

Our conference explored practical applications of dairy automation and management using sensor based data.  This conference examined the state of the art technology available today, and the limitless possibilities for the future.

Precision Dairy management is bringing about a new model for labour efficient dairy production as shown with the development of robotic milking, which dramatically reduces labour requirements.  Going beyond robotic milking, precision technology can monitor cow health and welfare as well as productivity through level of activity, body weight changes, udder  health and milk composition, thereby defining animal needs that can be met through robotic equipment that has traditionally been met though human care and labour.

We expect that this conference will advance the application of Precision Dairy Management on Dairy farms just as the First North American Conference on Robotic Milking introduced to North America the new era of robotic milking.

Objectives

  • Bring together the best technology in precision dairy management in the world
  • Provide a sharing environment for researchers, technologists, developers and producers to expand their knowledge of precision management technology.
  • Stretch the boundaries of application of technology in improved management and welfare of dairy cattle

Who attended?

Researchers, dairy industry personnel, farmers, veterinarians and others involved in the dairy industry attended to exchange information and learn about the latest sophisticated technologies for milking, herd management, herd health, and advances in nutrition and reproductive management.
